Tenses

I’ve been following Zen Proverbs for some time now, and I’ve noticed a trend that most quotes are about living in the “Now” and not in the “Past”/”Future”. I believe that’s a bit too extreme.

I think we should allow ourselves to enjoy the present, but also pay attention to the past (experience) and future (plans).

I remember a saying from one of my friends, “enjoy it while it lasts” – even though it is a bit cliché I keep thinking about it every day and it seems to become truer and truer. I’ve come to appreciate more the “Now” instead of blindly ignoring it and just chase the future.

In other words: value your experiences, enjoy the present as well as your plans.
